Background

History

Equilibrium Group was formally established in 2019 by Michael Ford and Richard Jamieson. The team have years of experience in Strategy, Finance, Transformation and Investor relations. We also provide executive coaching and mentoring at the highest level within the Australian and global business community. Our leadership coaches have worked one-to-one with senior leaders at Australia’s largest companies. Our coaches are all active Senior Executives or Directors on Boards. We operate with the strictest confidentiality and discretion.

Equilibrium Group also provides digital Executive Education and has partnered to deliver digital education using banking simulation technology to banking markets around the world.

Michael Ford

Michael Ford is a Non-Executive Director and senior executive with more than 30 years of experience. He has played a leadership role in strategy, building businesses and digital transformation in a range of industries. His most recent corporate role was as the Chief Financial Officer of News Corp Australia. This role supported the Executive Chairman of News Corp Australia in managing the News Corp portfolio of businesses. In this role Michael was responsible for the Finance, Strategy and Operations teams and also led the digital, eCommerce and Ventures businesses which was a team of 1,650 people. Michael was previously Group CFO of QBE Insurance and prior to that Deputy CFO of Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Michael has also worked in senior roles at Lendlease and Southcorp after commencing his career with Price Waterhouse.

Michael has led large teams through significant transformations. Michael and the teams he has led have been well recognised for adding significant shareholder value as well as high levels of stakeholder engagement, innovation and diversity. Michael's experience includes leading large teams in Asia, Europe and the United States.

Michael has a Bachelor of Commerce and is a Chartered Accountant with an MBA. He has also completed the Advanced Management programs at both INSEAD and Harvard Business Schools. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He recently completed the Harvard University Cyber security program.

Richard Jamieson

Richard Jamieson has approximately 30 years of experience in the banking, funds management and property industries. He was previously CFO for Vicinity Limited for over 4 years, a top 30 ASX retail property company. Prior to that he held the CFO role at both BT Group and Westpac New Zealand. He has also worked across the funds management industry within Colonial First State Global Asset Management and Credit Suisse Asset Management.

Richard is a proven leader having led teams of over 600 people. He has worked through the merger of a number of listed ASX companies and been heavily involved in debt raising across Asia, Europe and the United States.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Accounting and is a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. He has completed the Advanced Management program at INSEAD.
